    The great charter of the liberties. It was first drafted by the Archbishop to make peace between the unpopular King and a group of rebel barons.
  • The settlement of jamestown

    First settlement of the Virgina colony. Govener George Yeardley gave notice immediately that the Virgina colony would establish legislative assembly. The assmbly was called the house of burgesses.
  • The Mayflower Compact

    First governing document of Plymouth Colony. Written by separist congergationalists who called themselves "saints". Later on known as Pilgrams fleeing from religious persecutions by King James.

    Major English constitutional document that set specific liberties of the subject to the king prohibited from infringing.

    Act of the Parilment of England that deals with constitutional matters and lays out certian basic civil rights.
  • The Albany plan of union

    purposal to create unified government for the 13 colonies suggested by Ben franklin.
  • The stamp Act

    Recongized as the first organized and coornadited political actions of the American Revolution even though its participants were not all interested, in the independence from Britian.
  • The First Continental Congress

    It was metting between the delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies that met on SEptember 5 to October 25 1774 in Philadelphia. It was a respone to the passage of Coercive Acts.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress
    A convention of delegates from the 13 coloines that started a meeting in the summer of 1775 in Philadelphia soon after welfare in the American Revolutionary war had begun.
