    when the first continental congress met they met secretly to stay hidden from british officials

    when they met for the second time, they proposed the idea for a central government called the Articles of Confederation

  • Shay's Rebellion

    Shay's Rebellion lasted from Aug, 29, 1786 to sometime in Febuary of 1787 and showed how weak the Articles of Confederation really were

  • Virginia and New Jersey Plans

    these two plans gave ideas of what they wanted the new constitution to be like

  • Conneticut Compromise

    this put the ideas of the New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan together putting the pro's of each plan together

    Deleware became the first state to ratify the new constitution out of the nine that were needed

    Rhode Island became the last state to ratify the constitution and they now put the constitution to action
