It's mission is the same as many others, to conserve the "wild places" on Earth. It works to protect ecological communities and to create a legacy for America's wildlife.

    This organization was founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society (NYZS). It was founded by Andrew H. Green, Henry Fairfield Osborn and Bird Grinnell. Theodore Roosevelt was also very involved in the founding of WCS. This organizations currently conserves more than two million square miles of wild places around the world.

    The National Wildlife Federation was founded on February 4th, 1936. It was founded during the North American Wildlife Conference in 1936 by Jay Norwood Darling. This group focuses on why wildlife is important to our ecosystem. Currently, the NWF is focused on matters such as climate change, the bald eagle, the Everglades, and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Originally, Defenders of Wildlife was called Defenders of Fur Bearers and it's mission was to help preserve wild animals. Since then, it has broadend it's horizons.

    This is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2006 by Thomas S. Kaplan. It's mission is to conserve the world's 37 species of wild cats. It is a worldwide organization that focuses on the endangered wild cats, such as snow leopards, tigers and jaguars.

    This is a non-profit organization founded in 1987 by Spencer Beebe and Peter Seligmann in Arlington, Virginia. Conservation International has helped over 1,000 areas and 612 million hectares of land, marine and coastal areas.
