Six-Day War
Six-Day War, also called June War or Third Arab-Israeli War. Israel’s decisive victory to gain contol of palestinian. It also marked the start of a new phase in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, since the conflict created hundreds of thousands of refugees and brought more than one million Palestinians in the occupied territories under Israeli rule. -
Yom Kippur War
Egyptian and Syrian forces launched a coordinated attack against Israel on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Egyptian troops swept deep into the Sinai Peninsula,Syria struggled to throw occupying Israeli troops out. Israel counterattacked and recaptured the Golan Heights. A cease-fire went into effect on October 25, 1973. -
Camp David Accords
Egypt wanted peace with isreal so in 1978, Sadat and Begin reachedto an agreement known as the Camp David accords. Egypt recognized Isreal, and Isreal returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. The treaty ended 30 years of hostility between Egypt and Isreal. -
Intifada
the intifada was a Palestinian uprising against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. More than 1,400 Israeli civilians and 1,700 soldiers were injured. At the time Israel reportedly obtained information from some 18,000 Palestinians who had been compromised although fewer than half had any proven contact with the Israeli authorities. -
Second Intifalda
The Second Intifada, also known as the Al-Aqsa Intifada, it was the second Palestinian uprising against Israel – a period of intensified Israeli-Palestinian violence. The Palestinians by numerous suicide bombing and gunfire; the Israelis by tank and gunfire and air attacks. Some consider the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit on February 8, 2005 to be the end of the Second Intifada, when President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon agreed that all Palestinians would stop all acts of violence.
