    Israel launched air strikes against Egypt and defeated Arab forces. Israel took control of land in the West Bank and Gaza with a large Palestinian population.

    Egypt and Syria did a surprise attack against Israel. Israel had help from the U.S but oil wasn't sold to the U.S for helping Israel.

  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Arab nation had recognized Israel's tight to exist. To help facilitate a peace between Egypt and Arab with Israel, US president Jimmy Carter made an agreement.

  • First Intifada

    First Intifada
    During the intifada, Palestinian youths battled Israel troops in widespread street violence. The fighting continued for 6 years.

  • Second Intifada

    Second Intifada
    This time Palestinian youths were joined by Palestinian security forces with guns. Israel sent troops back with tanks, fighter jets, and helicopter gunships into cities in the West Bank and Gaza.
