In The six day war, Israel air striked Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, which resulted in most of their airplanes being destroyed. Israel took control of the West Bank and Gaza. -
Yom Kippur War
The Yom Kippur War was launched because the Egypt and Syria wanted back their territory. Israel pushed back the Egyptian ans Syrian armies with the help of the U.S. military. -
Camp David Accords
Egypt and Israel made a treaty to end the 30 years of conflict between them. Egypt recognized that Israel had a right to exist, and in return, Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula. -
Iranian Revolution
Iran was ruled by Khomeini in an Islamic republic during the Iranian Revolution. Under this new government, strict social and religous values were enforced. The foreign policy was very anti-western. -
Intifada
The Intifada was a rebellion caused by the resntment Palestinians had because Israelis occupied their land. During the Intifada, there was a lot of street violence between Israeli troops and Palestinian youths.
