  • 1948 War

    1948 War
    UN proclaims Israel as an independent state. Not seeing Israel as its own state, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria attack the next day. This is the first Arab-Israeli War, also known as the Catastrophe by Palestinian Arabs.
  • Six Day War

    Six Day War
    In an attempt to destroy Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Iran send their military to Israel's borders. Expecting an attack, Israel stikes before they can. From that attack came a six day war in which Israel gained East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Golan Heights, Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Penninsula.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Egypt and Syria retalliate from the Six Day War by attacking Israel on Yom Kippur. The Arab military had a good start but Israel msnsged to hold back the attack. The new territory helped Israel defend themselves greatly.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Menachem Begin, Israel's prime minister and Egyptian monarch Anwar Al-Sadat wanted to declare peace. U.S. President Jimmy Carter invited to them to sign the peace agreement in Camp David, Maryland.
  • Persian Gulf War

    Persian Gulf War
    Iraq invaded Kuwait in order to get the nation'soil reserve. The UN told Iraq to give up Kuwait and when they didn't, they banned trade with Iraq. As it seemed to be a bigger and bigger threat to Saudi Arabi, more countries joined the Anti-Iraq team and war went out.
