Yom Kippur War
Egypt and Syria launched a suprise attack and they were making territory until the U.S. and Israeli forces pushed them back and it ended in a cease fire. The price of oil dramatically rose. -
Camp David Accords
The Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and the Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Beign met with Jimmy Carter and together they agreed on the Camp David Accords. Egypt recognized Israel and Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt. -
First Intifada
In 1987 Palestine youths battled Israeli troops is widespread street violence. The first suicide attacks in Israel happened here and 1,500 Palestines died and 400 Israelis died.
