War for Israeli independence
The war for Israeli's independence was created because on Novemember 29th, 1947 the United States decided to partition Palestine into an Arab and Jewish state. That partition caused violence which first led to many strikes and early 1948 war struck out. Many of the Jews and Arabs held their place and declared Israeli statehood. In January 1949 an armistice was reached, ending the war. -
Six-Day War
The Six-Day War was a war that was from June 5th-June 11th that was created because of an increase of dramatic tension between Israel and its Arab neighbors. It was initiated by General Moshe Dayan, who was Israeli's Defence Minister. The war was between Syria, Jordan, and Egypt. -
Israeli invasion Lebanon
The treaty with Egypt leads to a "cold" peace which slowly causes tension.There were Palestinian refugees living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip which caused attacks by the Palestine Liberation Organization from the Lebanon border. in June, 1982 Israel invades Lebanon and Israeli troops reach Beirut which concerned the PLO and Syrian fighters. Eventually in May 1983 the war ends and Israel gradually withdrawls troops. -
Palestinian Statehood Declaration
In !988 Yasser Arafat proved a prudent diplomat and seeked a sole of leadership to the Palestinian people. He declared statehood in November, 1988. The United States refruses to see the statehood but does open dialogue with Arafat. -
The rising of Palestinian
On September 28th, Israel's Likud Party leader Ariel Sharon, a hard-line conservative, visited a disputed holy site in Jerusalem sparking demonstrations. Another upsiring soon launched which was followed by violence. Suicide bomb attacks were launched which killed 23 people. Within the first year of the uprising, nearly eight hundred are dead as a result of the fighting.
