Conflict in Israel

  • The Beginning

    Islamism was growing on a regional level and this became an issue as they were taking land. Arabs lived under the Israel rule causing conflict and tension to grow, breaking out in the Arab-Israeli conflict in 1948.
  • Six-Day War

    Israel started a war with taking control of the Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem. They gained much control over West Bank and Gaza, which help a large Palestinian population.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Egypt and Syria found themselves launching a surprise attack against Israel in 1973 all in determination to win their territory back. During the war, Arab members announce a oil embargo, throwing many off.
  • Camp David Accords

    Anwar Sadet, Egyptian president and Menachem Begin, Israeli prime minister, were invited t meet in Maryland to settle all conflict. With the Accord agreement, this ended 30 years of hostility between the two countries.
  • Intifada Rebellions

    Palestinian resentment of Israel boiled to a point where a rebellion was taking place in the streets in 1987. There were very violent in the streets and years later, a second intifada began in the year 2000.
