    As Israel and Egypt made peace, Palestinian Arabs continued their struggle for nationhood. There was two states in Palestinian it was the Jewish and the Arab state. Palestinian nationalism was strong and Palestine Liberation organization formed a pledge to destroy Israel.

  • War in 1967

    War in 1967
    Israel launched an air strikes against Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, destroying most of their airplanes on the ground. Israeli ground troops then moved in and rapidly defeated Arab forces. This war was known as Six-Day War.

  • War in 1973

    War in 1973
    Egypt and Syria surprised attack against Israel to determine to win their territory back. This war was known as Yom Kippur War. During the war, Arab members of OPEC declared an oil embargo.

  • A Peace Agreement

    A Peace Agreement
    Egypt wanted peace with Israel. The treaty ended 30 years of hostility between Egypt and Israel.

  • Intifada

    Intifada
    Tension was building in the West Bank and Gaza. Israel started building settlements. Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation boiled over into a rebellion. Palestinian youths battled Israeli troops in widespread street violence.
