    In 1990, Tim Berners-Lee, working with Robert Cailliau at CERN, proposed a 'hypertext' system also known as HTML. Using this code Tim launched the first web page late that year.
  • Color Image Scanner

    What is now a standard feature of all in one printers, back in 1991 was a standalone product. Debuting at $1,995, the first color image scanner was available for purchase.
  • Linux OS

    The Linux operating system was realized under the GNU General Public License.
  • Web Source Code

    CERN released the Web source code and made it public domain. Suddenly anyone can contribute to the "Web" leading to massive growth and eventually, the internet as we know it today. Without making the web public domain, our world would look completely different.
  • The First Wiki

    The first Wiki was introduced, WikiWikiWeb. Now there are untold Wiki's online, but there was a time Wikipedia itself didn't exist. What a nightmare for high school students everywhere. With the advent of Wiki's research on the internet started to become more and more accessible. Now everyone can simply google a subject or topic and often the first result is a quote from a Wiki page of some sort.
