The Z1
The Z1 was the first programmable computer. It was created by a German called Konrad Zuse he created it in his parents living room from 1936- 1938. This was the first functional computer. -
ABC computer
Created in 1940 by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. It was the size of a large desk, and was the first digital electronic computer. It was also used to solve linear equations. -
ENIAC 1 Computer
Created in 1946, by John Presper, Eckert & John W. Mauchly. John Presper Eckert was the chief engineer. Eckert was a graduate student studying at the Moore School when he met John Mauchly in 1943. It took them a year to design the ENIAC. -
Manchester Baby Computer & The Williams Tube
Was created in 1948 by Frederic Williams & Tom Kilburn.It was called the "Small Scale Experimental Machine", but was soon nicknamed the "Baby". -
Harvard Mark I computer
created in 1944 by Howard Aiken & Grace Hopper, it was slow requiring 3-5 seconds for a multiplication operation.
