  • Vacuum Tubes

    Vacuum Tubes
    1906- William DeForest Develops the vacuum tube.
    The vacuum tube opened the gate to modern technology.
  • Flip flop circut

    Flip flop circut
    1919- Ecles and Philips develops the flip-flop circut.
    The flip-flop circut allowed for fast processing speed. Without this we would wait for ever to downloads to load
  • Z-1

    Z-1
    1936- The Z-1 is created in Germany by Konard Zuse, considered the first modern computer by many. This machine was the first computer to elctronically process data.
  • The Colossus

    The Colossus
    1943-The colossus codebreaker is made.
    Not only was it a big milestone in computer advancment, it allowed for the british to break codes during WWII.
  • Magnetic Memory

    Magnetic Memory
    1952- Jay Forester develops magnetic memory. Magnetic memory allows for more memory storage in smaller spaces. We still use these today.
  • Mouse

    Mouse
    1964- Doug Engelbart develops a working mouse.
    Without the mouse we would be stuck with text based computers. The mouse allowed for easier and faster communication with the computer.
  • APPLE

    APPLE
    1976-Apple is founded.
    Apple is used by almost everyone today. Not only is it one of the most sucsesful buisiness it has made huge advancments in data sharing and storage.
  • Windows

    Windows
    1983-Windows is developed.
    Windows is now used by most people on computers. Almost all prgorams allowing acsss to the internet is based off windows.
  • Java

    Java
    The java programming language is made.
    Many programs use it today and it made independent programing easier. Also there are some really funny jokes about it.
  • PC

    PC
    2002-Over one billion PC’s have been sold.
    This shows that much more of the population uses computers when only smaller numbers would. This marked a new direction in computer technology by more people having acsess to it.
