  • Photoshop is Created

    A photo editing tool that found it's start used to edit movies in the early 90s. Officially released on February 19th, 1990. Invented by brothers John and Thomas Knoll. It is commonly seen nowadays in many formats on Instagram posts, YouTube thumbnails, and countless other applications.
  • JPEG Style Files Become Standard

    Created by "a group of international standards organizations" in 1992, the JPEG file format became a standard as it was able to compress high quality images into a small byte sized file. Today this is one of the most popular file formats and is widely used by modern digital cameras.
  • PDF Format is Released

    In 1993, the PDF format was developed by Adobe Systems. It's goal was to create a universal file format that would be able to traverse all of the various operating systems, software, and printers with minimal formatting issues which clouded much of early file sharing. PDF files revolutionized the way we share files and is still just as popular today, with it being one of the most commonly seen formats.
  • Windows 95 Takes Over the World

    On August 24th, 1995, Microsoft released the famous Windows 95. Windows 95 took the world by storm upon it's arrival and would soon become the most installed operating system in the world. This was one of the first steps towards modernizing and normalizing computers in today's society.
  • Nvidia releases the GeForce 256

    In 1999, Nvidia releases the GeForce 256, which is widely considered as the first consumer GPU. This was a massive step as GPU's are a staple in any gaming pc, being an absolute necessity. Even some "office-only" pc's have some type of lower grade GPU.
