    In 1971, Intel launched the Intel 4004, which became the first customizable processor made for general use. The microprocessor was the size of a small fingernail, and was able to fulfill many purposes.

The CYCLADES network, the NPL network, and the European Informatics Network were linked by Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn, proving the success of “internetworking” and their protocol in the process.

The CD helped with the spread of mainstream music.This new innovation pushed for computer companies to create a disk standard for every computer to be able to use the CD.

    In 1993, there had been senate hearings on the violence in videogames. The violence in these games, such as Mortal Kombat, lead to the push for a widespread video game rating system similar to those for movies. With the threat of government mandated ratings many major companies created rating systems of their own, ranging from young children to adults only.
