Andrew Donald Booth invents magnetic drum memory. I chose to do this because I didn't know what magnetic drum memory was so I wanted to find out more about it. -

Claude Shannon builds the first machine that plays chess. I chose this event because I wanted to see what the first machine that played chess looked like and I wanted to learn how it was invented. -

IBM introduces the first word processor. I chose this event because I wanted to learn about how it was invented and I thought it was interesting because we have come so far in the word processing industry since then. -

E-mail was invented by Ray Tomlinson I chose this because I wanted to see what E-mail was like back when it was first invented. -

Apple introduces the Macintosh with mouse and window interface. I wanted to learn about Apple back then because it has come VERY far since then.
