    Microsoft came out with Windows 3.0
    This was the first successful Windows version that was accessible through DOS programs. This update allowed PC users to support large graphical applications for the very first time.

    There were 3 versions to the PowerBook including the 100, 140, and 170 models. All of the models had an internal floppy disk and built-in trackball(mouse). The 170 version had a faster processor and active matrix display.

    Apple releases The Newton

    The Newton was introduced as a "Personal Data Assistant". This piece of technology has handwriting detection software. Although, this was a great invention it was discontinued in 1998 as there were many malfunctions.
  • IBM releases the ThinkPad 701c

    IBM releases the ThinkPad 701c
    John Karidis had invented this laptop to be collapsable. When you open the laptop the keyboard is compiled up of 3 triangular parts that make a full size keyboard. This design was called "the Butterfly" and didn't last very long because with time the computer screens grew.

    This computer came with a 233-MHz G3 processor, 4GB hard drive, 32MB of RAM, a CD-ROM drive, and a 15-inch monitor. This computer was very easy to use and generated a lot of revenue which helped Apple out of bankruptcy.

    There were two version the 170MB and the 340MB. These were the smallest hard drives in he world at the time but were more prone to physical and temperature damage.
