First Electronic Computer
The first electronic computer is created in Japan by Hideo Yamachito. I decided to start with this one because it seems pretty important. Mostly all computers now are electronic. (I decided to go from the 50's to the 90's because it is most recent and interesting. The earlier history is important, but I'd like stay closer to this time.) -

First Hard Drive
IBM builds the first hard drive. It contains fifty 24 inch disks, has a capacity of 5 MB and costs over US$1,000,000. I thought that this was pretty interesting because we recently learned abotu hard drives and how important they are. -
First Computer Game
The first computer game Spacewar Computer Game invented BY Steve Russell & MIT. This is important because now, most electronic things are used for are playing games. -
First Computer Mouse
Douglas Engelbart invents and patents the first computer mouse (nicknamed the mouse because the tail came out the end). This is something I did not know. I didn't know where the name of a mouse came from, but it makes so much sense. The computer mouse is very important, I'm using one right now. -
First Floppy Disk
The floppy disk is introduced. This is an important event because the floppy disk was very useful and used for quite a long time. I remember using floppy disks when I was younger, and that was in the early 2000's. -
Steven Jobs and Stephen Wozniak
Steven Jobs and Stephen Wozniak start building computers in the Jobs' family garage. This is very important because these two men made history. To be honest, I wouldn't know who either of them were if it weren't for Steve Jobs death. -
First Portable Computer
The first successful portable computer, The Osborne 1, is introduced. This is pretty cool because they named this computer like what you would name a Space Shuttle or something. The fact that they made a portable computer is significant too. -
Window Operating System
Microsoft finally releases the Windows operating system. This is important because many people use this operating system today. I am using right. -
JPEG
The JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) graphics compression format is released. This is actually interesting because I never actually thought about when this format was released, but now I know. -
Toy Story
Toy Story is the first full-length feature film to be completely computer generated. I thought this was a pretty cool event to end with because it is an amazing movie that I really enjoy and it just comes to show how for computers came to be at this point and how far they have come to this day.
