  • Period: 12,000 BCE to 5500 BCE

    Paleo Indianans

    The Paleo Indianans where one of the first people to live in the u.s. and they hunted large animals that are now extinct. the Paleo Indianans also had homes that where temporary but could with stand wind (or where meant to).

    Archaic Indians

    as it became warmer the Archaic time period the ice age animals died out and the Archaic stared hunting smaller animals like deer and elk and rabbits.the Archaic make new tool to help with hunting with a spear called a '"atlatl"' witch helped by allowing the hunters to having more speed and force + accuracy.

    Spanish Explorers

    the Spanish used a path called "the old Spanish trail" on thousands horses every year at lest. The Spanish used the natives as slaves to go down mines to mined silver. to get things the Spanish traded with the American Indians for things like : coffee, chocolate, vanilla, potatoes, tomatoes and corn the Spanish loved the goods and sent them back to Spain.

    Southern Utes

    Utes where one oldest residents of Colorado. Utes got horses when the Spanish came to claimed new land. One of the Utes's cultures where a dace called "Bear Dance" when you herd the first thunder in the spring it was time for the bear dance.
  • Women's Suffrage

    not all people had the same rights women couldn't vote. the women began to try to get the same rights. avalanche women got to vote.

    Cheyenne and Arapaho

    The Native people in the United States (or u.s.) didn't have the same rights sometimes to do there way of life. "In the late 1800s into the late 1900s, Native children were taken away from their families to boarding schools." said Colorado Story. and i think they were Utes maybe.

    American Explorers

    at 1803 the U.S. brought from France and the present sent people to explore the new land. Robert Long explored Colorado in 1820 and said "the land was to dry for farming". Many years later John C. Frémont explored in 1840's and he said "the soil of all this country is excellent".

    Fur Trappers and Traders

    the fur traiding didn't benitfant evrey one though the Amaricen Indens hunted many animals shuch as buffilos, bevers and so forth. the trappers that hunted in the mountains where called Moutain Men.

    the Trapers made forts to traid and so forth.

    Mexican-American War

    Mexico owned the land we call Colorado before the Mexican-American war. after the war Amarica won. the war was over who got to own the land (Colorado).(or so i think)

    Settlers

    after the Mexican-Amarican war people could come and move here. lots of gold made people want to live here there was about twice as many people as there are today (in 2020). colorado became a territory in 1861.

    Miners

    Miners came to Colorado find gold for money. there was a cry that was "pikes peak or bust". also John Ralston discovered gold in 1858.

    Lode mining

    Lode Mining started in 1858 after Russell’s discovery of 200$ worth of money. Gold hunters didn't give up they knew gold came from mountains. towns that ran out of gold the people moved out now they are called "Ghost towns" there are more than abut 500 of thies "Ghost towns".

    most people where exited for Colorado becoming a state. In august 1st of 1878 it happened.

    Civil Rights

    not all people got the same rights after the war, like the black people they didn't get to even to the same jobs or be with wight. so the Civil Rights one of the parts was about the buses, they stopped riding the buses so they had to take off the rule about separating wight and black on the buses with was mostly began from (i believe) Harriet Tubman.
  • Anika Laitsch's first fractured arm

    Anika laitsch was chasing a boy (unknown who it was) and triped on a pine tree root (funny because at the time she lived in a pine tree FOREST a place with LOTS of pine trees). When she fell it hurt like she broke it the boy she was chasing didn't even ask if she was ok. She found out it was a pine tree rut when she when back (after the insistent).
