Seven Years War
The Seven Years War officially started the war between England and France. The war lasted 7 years (obvious) and ended in 1763 with a treaty. The treaty ensured the colonial and maritime power of Britain and strengthened the 13 American colonies. -

In 1804 the Haitians won a French invasion and later declared independence. This helped them become an independent country free from foreign rule. Francois Dominique Toussaint L'Ouverture is the person in the picture and he was the leader of the Haitian revolution. -
Battle of Thames
The Battle of Thames was a victory for America against the British. In the end Shawnee chief,Tecumseh, was killed in battle. The American and Native American army fought against the British, which is depicted in the picture. -
Napoleon defeated at Waterloo
The defeat at Waterloo in Belgium brought an end to the Napoleonic era in Europe. The Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon and he was executed in May of 1821. -
Foundation of Republic of Liberia
Liberia was established by citizens of the United States as a colony for former African American slaves. This was a relief area for former slaves that was one of the only two states that was started by citizens without political power. -
Greece Gains Independence

The Opium war lasted form 1839 to 1842 and it broke out when negotiations betweenthe Qing officials and British representatives reached a stalemate. The British then basically forced the Qing Empire to buy opium from them. -
Commodore Matthew Perry
In July of 1853 Commodore Matthew Perry delivered a letter from the president of the United States to Japan demanding that they open their tradingports to foreign trade. This was important because they had successfully broken through the barriers of the long isolated Japan. -
Sepoy Rebellion
The Sepoy Rebellion lasted form 1857 to 1858 and was the refolt of Indian soldiers that were against certain practices that ha violated their religous customs. aka Sepoy Mutiny. -

Leopold II obtains Congo Free State
At the Berlin Conference of 1884–1885, the colonial nations of Europe that came together to discuss the partitions of Africa. In the end King Leopold II led to the creation of the Congo Free State. -

The Berlin Conference was a meeting arranged by German chancellor Otto Von Bismark. Many other European powers attended and together set rules for the partition of Africa. -
United States Obtain Pearl Harbor
In 1887 the United States obtained Pearl Harbor. They wanted Pearl Harbor as a coaling and naval station. And six years later settles desposed the queen andoffered the islands to the United States. This proved somewhat useful and was the main event in the beinning of World War II. -
Revolt by the Philippines
In 1896 Emilio Aguinaldo attempted to get rid of the Spainards in the Philippines. They revolted two years later when they weren't consulted when the United States Purchased them. It took them a while but later they did gain independence. -
Battle of Omdurman
The Battle of Omdurman was led by the British and was an attempt to re-conquer Sudan. It was a failed attempt until the Battle of Umm Diwaykarat which succeeded.The Battle of Omdurman showed the immense power of the British with their advanced weapons.
