House of Burgesses
The House of Burgesses was made up of 22 men, 2 men representing each of Virginia's 11 "plantations" or counties. The major goal of the House of Burgesses was to change the law as imposed by Thomas Dale. -
The First Thanksgiving

Parliment
Parliment was a two housed legislature. The greatest power that parliment had was that they were aloud to pproe new taxes. No maonarch was aloud to raise taxes without the concent of Parliment. The "power of purpse"gave parliment a degree of control over the monrch. -
Rhode Island Colony
Roger Williams came to Massachusetts as part of "The Great Migration." Despite his Puritan ties, Williams' own intolerance of the rules, laws and customs of the Puritans caused him, incidentally, to preach for religious tolerance. Williams purchased land from the local Indians and founded the town of Providence. Williams devised a compact that allowed all residents to vote regardless of their religion. -
Toleration Act
The Maryland Toleration Act was a law passed in 1649 by the colonial assembly of the Province of Maryland mandating religious toleration of all Christian denominations. As the first such law, it is often seen as a precursor to the First Amendment. the toleration act was passed also because the protestants outnumbered the catholics. -
Bacons Rebeloin
Nathaniel Bacon became the leader of the frontier settlers. Bacon organized a force of 1,000 westerners and began kto attack and kill the Native Aericans. the Governor said that Bacon and his men were rebals.Bacon reacted the what the Governor had saif by attacking Jamestown. Bacon and is men attackd Jamestown they burnt it to the ground and forced the Govenor to run away. But soon after Bacon became ill and died, and his revolt also fell, 23 of Bacons men were haned. -

Religion Revial
The Great Awakening began as a reaction against what some chiristians saw as a decline of religious zeal in the colonies. Forceful preachers quickly spread the Great Awakening thoughtout the colonies. -
Resistance to Slavery
. Fearing trouble colonial authorities wrote the slave code.it said that the snslaved people could not meat in large number own weapons, or leave the plantation with out permision.the slave code gave masters more control over the slaves. But this new law didnt stop resistance i 1739. Jemmy a Angolan led a revolt in South Carolina. He and his followers killed more that 20 whites befor the were captured. Revolts continued to happen untill slavery was ended in 1865. -
Electricity
Franklin prepared the kite by tying a handkerchief to two crossed sticks of proper length.the kite as extended into the air by a length of string. Along the string was a metal key that would conduct the electricity. -
Stamp Act
TheStamp Act rewuired that all colonist buy special tax stamps for alll kinds of proucts and activiyies. The stamps hadto be placed on Wills, Licenses, Insuarnce Polocies, Land Titles, Contracts, and other documents. -
Boston Tea Prty
The Sons of Liberty organized in port cities to stop the East India Company from unloading tea. There first attempt work everywere expt in Boston. So on December 16 a large groupof men disguised as Native Americans boarded the ship and dumped 342 cases of tea in to the harbor. The group of men destroyed 90,000 pounds of tea woth thousands of dollars. -

Bill of Rights
. Many politicians, however, believed a bill of rights was not necessary for a government based on popular consent. Even though James Madison was against it, he helped guide the amendments through Congress. The Bill of Rights is still the first ten amendments in the U.S. Constitution today.
