Carolinas
Colony founded by 8 supporters of King Charles II. Easy access to trade with west indies. Later split into North and South when it became a royal colony. -
Bacon's Rebellion
A short uprising started by Nathaniel Bacon. He organized a militia of lower class citizens such as slaves, farmers, and others to oppose the rule of governor William Berkeley.

Pennsylvania
Founded by William Penn as a religious experiment. No land owning aristocracy was in place. 50 acres was given to every male settler.

Salem Witch Trials
Several young girls started exhibiting strange symptoms and claimed to be possessed by the devil. This escalated into 150 people being arrested and 20 being executed.

Enlightenment

Salutory Neglect
A british policy basically saying that they didn't care what the colonies were doing as long as they were loyal to the crown, which ultimately led to increasing autonomy within the colonies, which in turn led to the American Revolution.
