John Smith founded Jamestown, Virginia on May 13,1607. It was the first English settlement in North America. He had sailed form England and landed in Virgina. It was named after England's King James the first. -

The Mayflower Compact was signed on the Mayflower. The ship was located right off the Provincetown Harbor when it was signed. The Pilgrims were given permission from the English authorities to settle in Virginia. -

Nathaniel Bacon lead an armed rebellion to fight the Native Americans. Bacon's Rebellion was the first rebellion in the American colonies. The rebellion covered a range of public policy issues in Virginia. -

This date was when the Salem Witch Trials took place. These trials were the hearings and prosecutions of people in Salam. They were accusing people of being wtches and using witchcraft. -

The Boston Massacre happened on March 5, 1770. It was also called the Boston Riot. The fight was between a patriot mob and British soldies. During the Massacre five civilian men died from soldiers shooting into the crowd. -

The Boston Tea Party was an act of anger. The people were mad about the Tea Acts. This anger lead the American patriots to dump the East India Company tea into the Boston Harbour. -

The first shot of the Revelutionary War was on April 19, 1775. The shot was fired at Lexinton and Concord, Massachusetts. This was the beginning of the Revelutionary War which later ended on September 3, 1783. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexingotn and Concord was the first engagement of the Revolutionary War. General Thomas Gage sent 700 of his troups to seize the colonists' military stores. On their way there they were met by 77 local minutemen. Paul Revere warned them by saying, "The British are coming!".
