Connecticut Colony
Thomas Hooker and Governor John Haynes were from the Massachusetts Bay colony. Thomas Hooker was a leading Puritan clergyman who did not agree with the practices and government of the Puritan church. He established the new colony with 100 colonists who shared his views.
