Salutary Neglect
Made by Robert Walpole, Salutary neglect was Britain's unofficial policy, initiated by prime minister Robert Walpole, to relax the enforcement of strict regulations, particularly trade laws, imposed on the American colonies late in the seventeenth and early in the eighteenth centuries. Walpole and other proponents of this approach hoped that Britain, by easing its grip on colonial trade, could focus its attention on European politics and further cement its role as a world power. -

Bacon's Rebellion
Stared by Bacon, The governor of Virginia, passed a law that allowed natives to stay in the colonial lands. This enraged Bacon, who gathered some settlers and planned against Berkeley. They stormed Jamestown and burned the land, all in September of 1676. Berkeley was forced to retreat and refuse fighting against this rebellion. Bacon died due to dysentery.
