Tomatoes, Corn, etc.
Tomatoes, Corn, and Potatoes are introduced the first time to Europe because Europeans brought these items back to Europe to be sold such as for example, tomatoes were brought from Peru back to Europe by Spanish Conquistadors. Potatoes and corn led to population growth and provided an end to to famine. Potatoes were so important, Ireland created it's foods centered around potatoes. Tomatoes became a major feature in European cuisine even today most notably in pizza. (New World to Old World) -

Chili Peppers
Chili peppers are introduced to Europe by Christopher Columbus when he brought the first chili peppers back to Spain from the Americas in the 16th century. Spanish Conquistador Don Hernan Cortes brought back cocoa from the Americas to Spain. Cocoa later led to the invention of chocolate and hot coco which was important as by having cocoa, it lead to the creation of a sweet we all love and enjoy today. Ines Munoz found a few grains of rice in a barrel of rice from Spain and decided to try and grow the wheat in the Americas. Jacques Cartier first brought cabbage to the Americas.
