They managed to close the competition issues, electronic commerce, transparency and border services. -
I Mini round – Access to markets - (Los Angeles) 3 - 7 May, 2010
With the commitment of exchanging applications offers of improvement for agricultural and industrial products. Colombia expressed interest in gaining access to the Korean market for dairy products, beef, pork, poultry products, flowers, fruits, vegetables, confectionery, chocolate, juices and snuff, lobsters and prawns, tuna, clothing and cosmetics, among others, while Korea was interested in Colombia preferential access for polymers, plastics, automobiles, auto parts and appliances. -
Round III (Seoul) 14 - 18 June, 2010
They closed the negotiations on technical barriers to trade, telecommunications and dispute settlement. -
II Mini round - Temporary entry, Investment and Services – (Washington) 6 - 10 September, 2010
Meetings were developed in relation to rules and procedures of origin, investment, services and temporary entry. -
Round IV (Cali) 4 - 8 October, 2010
They discussed market access for agricultural and industrial products, trade remedies, investment, temporary entry, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, intellectual property, government procurement, customs and origin rules and procedures. -
III Mini round (Los Angeles) 7 - 9 February, 2011
Market Access in Goods and Rules of Origin. Items were discussed that seek to ensure national treatment, the gradual elimination of tariffs and elimination of non-tariff measures. It also sought agreements pending the origin requirements. -
Round V (Seoul) 10 - 14 October, 2011
Both parts discussed trade facilitation and customs procedures and progress in the chapters on market access for agricultural and industrial products, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, trade remedies, investment, intellectual property and cooperation. -
IV Mini round (Atlanta) 29 February - 01 March, 2012
The chapter on market access for agricultural and industrial goods, under the agreement negotiated that was reviewed. -
V Mini round (Chicago) 27 - 29 March, 2012
The purpose of this new meeting was to address the chapters on investment, rules of origin, trade remedies, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, cooperation, trade and sustainable development, intellectual property, and public procurement. -
Ronda VI - Cartagena, Colombia - 23 al 27 de abril de 2012
They discussed Market Access for non-Agricultural and agricultural goods, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, procurement, investment, services, intellectual property, institutional issues, cooperation, trade and sustainable development. -
Ronda VII - Seúl, Corea del Sur - 11 al 13 de junio de 2012
After two years and a half, Colombia and Korea finished negotiating a Free Trade Agreement, which will help generate prosperity and jobs for Colombians, via the increase in exports and increase Korean investment in Colombia in sectors with high technology. -
Conclusion
Colombia and Korea officially announced the conclusion of negotiations for an FTA. -
FREE TRADE AGREEMENT
Colombia signed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Korea.
