    I was born in Dublin, Ireland on 1852. I stayed there unitl my 18th birthday. My 18th birthday was like a farewell party for my family. I saved up my money since i was 10 years old to get my boating ticket to America. I was looking for more jobs in America I need more money for the house I am looking to buy. I am hoping to get a high paying job even if it is dangerous.

    This was the first time I ever saw the statue of liberty and I am blown away with how big it is. All i ever knew about the statue was that it was majestic. It is more than jus majestic though it also means something. The statue of liberty represents freedom.

    Ellis island infoThe excitement of seeing the statue of liberty soon faded when I was met by Ellis Island. Once we got to the loomy residence I had to wait in line for hours. Once I was checked for diseases I was sent to a cabin like building. The conditions were like jail. However, after i left ellis island, the conditions got worse.

    Soon after I left Ellis island I found myself in the slums of New York City. The streets were full of rotten food and garbage. It was very unsanitary and I nearly died of an unknown diseases. There are robbers and murderers in the slums, but I do not fear them because I have nothing for them to steal.

    After a few years of living in the slums I finaly got a job. My job involves building skycrapers. This is a very dangerous job and many people have died right before my eyes. At least I am getting paid more that the chinese do. My building will help industrialzise new york.
