Christianity religion was a monotheistic religion that was against the traditional polytheistic religion of the Romans. Eventually Christianity became an official religion in Rome. This undermined the Roman religion because the Romans considered thier emperor a god, while the Christians beleived in one god, this weakened the authority of the emperor. -

Seperation of Rome
Constantine split the epire into two parts, the western half and the eastern half. The western half declined while the eatern half thrived. the western empire was conquered while the eastern part continued to be. -

Economy and Inflation
The western part of Rome began to farm less, this led to an increase in the price of food in the western half. This caused a large trade deficit between the western and eastern part of Rome. To solve this problem, the government started to put less silver in each coin they produced. This caused inflation. -

Alaric Invasion of Rome
The Visigoths had finally reached the outskirts of rome, which were undefended. They pillaged and burned everything they saw throughout the city, causing alot of destruction. The Visigoths continued this for three days. -

Defeat of Romulus Augustus
Augustus was the first glorious emperor of Rome. Even so, he was reffered to as Romulus Augustulus, meaning little emperor. The Germans demandede one third of the land, which all of Italy would not give them. A leader by the name of Odoacer led the German's on conquest, forcing Romulus to abdicate.
