    Rome was founded

    Rome was founded
    On April 21, 753 B.C Rome was founded By two brothers/ "demigods" named Romulus and Remus they ruled rome up until Romulus killed Remus because Romulus named rome after himself and Remus became mad.
  • Period: 753 BCE to 509 BCE

    Rome's time as a Kingdom.

    The roman kingdom ended in the year 509 B.C after the son of Lucius Tarquinius Superbus assaulted a noble woman by the name of lucretia and was left uncharged.
  • Period: 509 BCE to 27 BCE

    Rome's time as a republic.

    The roman republic lasted from 509 B.C to 27 B.C within this time Rome greatly expanded their borders as far as Africa.

    Rome conquers Jerusalem

    Rome conquered jerusalem in 63 B.C.

    Octavian Augustus's life span.

    During Augustus's lifetime he accomplished many things and was arguably the best ruler rome had ever had.

    Octavian Augustus time ruling in Rome.

    Octavian came to power at the age of 18 after his uncle Julius Caesar was assassinated. During his time ruling the first long period of piece happened in rome during this time Octavian created the first permanent roman navy.

    At this time Octavian did not yet have the power of an emperor however many romans considered him one.

    During the Pax Romana rome flourished in every way. In this golden age rome had no majior wars they grew in wealth from trade and built huge systems of roads bridges and tunnels.

    Jesus was born in Judea in 6 B.C. later in his life he would preach and these teachings eventually created the religion christianity

    Jerusalem revolted against Rome.
    In 70 A.D Jerusalem revolted against Rome after Rome refused to accept Christianity. Rome crushed Jerusalem which spread the religion of christianity further after its followers spread throughout Rome.

    At the year 117 A.D rome was at its height at this point they had accomplished many things. They had created huge networks of roads, Bridges, and tunnels they also created the first real mail system and expanded their trade networks.

    Between the years 235 to 285 A.D Rome had 50 emperors this severely weakened rome as none of these emperors could retain order.

    Diocletian splits the Roman empire.
    Diocletian choice to split the empire stabilized rome within 20 years this was very helpful to rome seeing that prior to this rome had 50 emperors in 50 years.

    The western half of rome fell after an invasion by the huns, they pillaged, raided and smashed the city of rome.
