    On March 12, 1947 the Truman Doctrine was issued by President Harry S. Truman. The Truman Doctrine was an American foreign policy and the purpose was to counter the geopolitical expansion during the Cold War. Truman had established that the United States would provide political, military and economic assistance to all democratic nations under threats from external and internal forces. It was later Developed on July 12, 1948 when he had pledged to contain threats in Greece and Turkey.

    The Marshall plan happen in April 3, 1948. The purpose of the Marshall plan was that the United States wanted to provide economic assistance to restore the economic infrastructure of postwar Europe. The United States gave over $12 billion in economic assistance to help rebuild Western European economies.

    BERLIN AIRLIFT
    The U.S began the Berlin airlift. Josef Stalin’s government has attempted to consolidate control of the city by cutting off all land and sea routes to West Berlin in order to pressure the Allies to evacuate. On June 24 the western section of Berlin and its 2 million people were deprived of food, heating fuel and other crucial supplies. U.S and British pilots begin delivering food and supplies by airplane to Berlin after the city was isolated by the Soviet Union blockade.

    The Berlin blockade was one of the major turning points of international crises of the Cold War. The Berlin blockade cause was during the beginning of the Cold War. Which was when Stalin was taking over the eastern Europe by salami tactics and Czechoslovakia had just turned Communist. During the postwar the Soviet Union blocked the western allies like the railroad, road, and canal access. Which were accessed in the sectors of Berlin under western control. It ended in May 12, 1949.

    On October 1, 1949 was when China was lead by the communist party of China by Mao Zedong which he had declared the creation of the people’s republic of China. After the war the Truman administration published the “China White Paper” explained past US policies towards China. Unfortunately it had ended and failed and left an exiled nationalist government in Taiwan and it heightened sense among the US anti-Communist that the outcome of the struggle could be reversed.

The war ended by North Vietnam signing a peace treaty.

    The Revolt in Hungary was created by the Hungarian people that were against the ruling of Communist Party of the time and the Soviet policies. The Soviets were brutal to the Hungarians by viciously crushing people with tanks. Many Hungarians were killed including some Soviet troops. Hungary had withdrawn by using the NATO.

The US military had feared that they’ve fallen behind in developing new technologies. After US failed many attempts the Soviet union continued to launch the satellites.

    The Cultural Revolution happened in 1966. It was led up by the red guards. Mao Zedong, China's communists leader was the one who was mainly involved. The red guards shut down school, targeted people, and executed people. He mainly wanted to eliminate his rivals make sure they stayed communists. The purpose of this was to establish a society of peasants and workers in which all were equal.

    The revolt in Czechoslovakia began in 1968 when the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia. The soviets wanted to crush the Prague Spring which was a brief period of liberalization in the communist country. People wanted to become independent and a free socialist state. This event happened because of Alexander Dubcek when he was elected first secretary. After all the countries invaded Dubcek decided to curtail his reforms.
