    This was the point in time in which U.S soldiers were coming home male soldiers at that. That led to many infants being born between the time period of 1940 and 1953. some families had up to seven children. This resulted in a population increase during this time period.

    Korean War

    The northern part of Korea supported by the Soviet attacked southern Korea on the grounds of wanting all of Korea under a communist government. China warned the us that if they intervened and attacked north Korea they would retaliate. They kept their word and this ended in a three year long war in which ended up with the outcome we see today. Korea was split fairly even between the now two separate countries

    Brown vs Board

    This was a point in time in which white and African American children were put into separate schools. This case put a stop to that. Once the issue was brought to the supreme court after many other cases just like this it was decided that separate schools for black and white children would be considered unconstitutional.

    Vietnam war

    This war commenced after the rise of power from Ho Chi Minh along with his communist Viet Minh followers in northern Vietnam. As and outcome over 3 million people died during this war including 58,000 Americans. In the year 1973 president Nixon instructed that the United states would be renouncing themselves from this war. In 1795 the communists seized control and told their forces to fall back.

    Berlin WALL

    After WW2 both the U.S and the Soviet wanted control of Berlin in which then created East and West Berlin. The wall that was put in place completely cut east Berlin off from west Berlin. On e the east the Soviet set up a communist country and claimed the wall was set up in order to protect the citizens of east Germany. This point in time was also called the cold war in which many thought the U.S and soviet would go to war but didn't in matters of self preservation.

    Cuban Missile Crisis

    The Cuban Missile Crisis also known as the October Crisis was a encounter between both the Soviet and the United States regarding the united states missile placements in Italy and Turkey. As a result the Soviet put missiles in Cuba. This confrontation lasted 13 days, it was and still is considered the closest the cold war got to a full blown nuclear war. In the end the missiles were taken out of Cuba by the Soviet.

    Medicare is health insurance for people that are 65 or older or people under 65 with certain disabilities. It has different advantages such as Hospital insurance and Medical insurance. You get medicaid if you are 65 or older, a child under 19, pregnant, living with a disability, a parent or adult caring for a child, or an eligible immigrant. The benefits include Doctor visits, Hospital stays, long term services and supports ect. put in place by president Lyndon Johnson.

    Kent State Massacre
    There were great protests all over the U.S on collage grounds due to the fact that 150,000 more soldiers needed to be drafted in the Vietnam War effort. At Kent State university located in Ohio protesters set fire to the ROTC building. This caused the governor at the time to dispatch 900 national guards to retaliate. Shots were fired killing four and wounding nine others.The guards that fired on the scene ended up not being persecuted and were set free.

    Bill Clinton

    In 1998, Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives. The cause was perjury in front of a grand jury. He was also caught on obstruction of justice throughout a lawsuit against him. Both were associated with an white house employee known as Monica Lewinsky. Mr. Clinton was then cleared by the U.S senate in the year 1999 but completed his term in office.

    September 11, 2001 Attacks
    This is a very well known atrocity that occurred in the U.S. This was a group of coordinated attacks that hit the twin towers. This attack was constructed by an Islamic group named the al-Qaeda. In total 2,996 people were killed during this attack and over 6,000 injured.

    George W Bush

    The 9/11 terrorist attacks happened eight months into Bush's first term. He retaliated with the Bush Doctrine: launching a "War on Terror", that involved in the year 2001 a war in Afghanistan and a Iraq War in 2003. Bush was an advocate for policies on the economy, health care, and amending the Constitution to prohibit same-sex marriage etc. He also the Patriot Act, the No Child Left Behind Act, Medicare prescription drug benefits for seniors and others.

    Iraq/Afghanistan wars

    The wars in Afghanistan resulted from the invasion of the U.S in the year of 2001. The United states was originally supported by Canada and The United Kingdom, we were later joined by the rest of NATO's forces. The U.S invaded as a result of the 9/11 attacks. This 13 year war was the longest war faught by the United States.
