The United Nations security council consisted of the United States, Great Britain, France, The Soviet Union, and China. The United Nations was made to promote peace between countries. In the Cold War, North Korea, who was communist, attacked South Korea who wasn't communist. The Cold war was important to history because it was a fight between communist and non-communist countries. The Cold War impacted society because it caused a fight between the Soviets and Americans in the United Nations.
