Korean War
Korea was ruled by Japan until the end of WW2. Then Soviet Union declared war on Japan and by agreement with the United States occupied Korea north of the 38th parallel. U.S. forces occupied the south and Japan surrendered. Two separate governments had been set up. Both claimed to be the legitimate government of Korea, and neither side accepted the border as permanent. The conflict escalated into war when North Korean forces supported by the Soviet Union and China invaded South Korea. -

The Forming of The Warsaw Pact
Since the US had made the NATO organization, the Soviet Union felt threatened and therefore created the Warsaw Pact which included Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria as members. -

The cold war was a war between the United States and the USSR. South Vietnam was allied with the US and North Vietnam was allied with the Soviet Union. The US was worried that if North Vietnam (Domino Theory) won the war other countries in South Asia would also fall to Communism. -

Inn his term he had faced a great deal of crises with Berlin and Cuba. He dealt with these issues through the nuclear ban test treaty, which limits the use of nuclear weapons primarily for both the Soviet and US.
