Stalin's death
In his last few months Stalin had decreasing health and was taking longer vacations. One day his staff found him lying on the ground, that night he had a brain bleed which lead him to have a stroke, he was moved to couch while semi-conscious and stayed there for 3 days. he was hand fed and given medications and injections. He died on the 5th by a cerebral haemorrhage. It was also possible Stalin was murdered by beria but no evidence was found. -

The war started when the Afghan Communist Party took power in 1978 and made some radical modernization changes that were very unpopular. The Soviet Union sent troops to support and help the communist party to hold onto power. The CIA trained militia groups and armed them, then sent them back to try and take over and end the communist control. in January 1980 soviet troops were demanded out of the country, it wasn't until may 1989 until the final troops were withdrawn. -

It was a trade union that turned into a social movement that is anti-bureaucratic. it used civil resistance to advance the causes of worker's rights and social change. this was met by the government using martial law as an attempt to destroy the union which lasted around 2 years in the end the communist government was forced to negotiate with solidarity. During this time is was funded by the pope and the US, in the end they funded around 50 million us dollars. -

This revolution was a non-violent transition of power from the communist party in Czechoslovakia. during the international students day demonstrations turned to anti-communist demonstrations. on November 20th he number of protesters grew from 200,000 to 500,000 in Prague. on the 24th all the communist party leadership resigned out of power. on December 10th the president elected a largely non-communist government. -
