    George Kennan was invlolved, Policy that using numerous stratgeies to prevent the spread of communism. This happened in the United States. This took place throughout 1947. It happened because it was a response to series of moves by the soviet union to enlarge communism in Europe, China, Korea, Vietnam.

  • Truman Doctrine

    Truman Doctrine
    President Harry Truman was involved. The Truman Doctrine effectively reoriented U.S. foreign policy, away from its usual stance of withdrawal from regional conflicts not directly involving the U.S., the one of possible intervention in far away conflicts. These events took place in Greece and Germany, It was the American policy of providing economic and military aid to Greece and Turkey because they were threathened by communism.

  • Marshall Plan

    Marshall Plan
    George Marshall was involved. The European Recovery Program cancelled over 813 million to finance the economy of Europe between 1948-1951. It took place at Harvard University. It took place to gain economic support and rebuild western Europe after WW2.

  • Sputnik

    Sputnik
    The Soviet Union was invloved. The public feared the soviets ability to launch ballistic missiles that could carry nuclear weapons from Europe to the U.S. It took place in the U.S. It marked the star of the U.S.-US.S.R. Space Race.

  • Mao Zedong

    Mao Zedong
    Mao Zedong was invlolved. He led communist forces into China. This took place in China in 1949. He's known as a significant communist figure of the Cold War.

  • Rosenberg Trial

    Rosenberg Trial
    Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were involved. Prosecution of the couple accused of selling nuclear secrets to Russians. This took place in New York, on March 6th, 1951. This happened because the couple had gotten caught.

  • Berlin Wall

    Berlin Wall
    Communist government of the German Democratic Republic was involved. East Germany began to build a barbed wire and concrete between East and West Berlin. It lasted from August 13th, 1961- Novemeber 9th, 1989. They official purpose of the Berlin Wall was to keep western "fascists" from entering East Germany and undermining the socialist state (but it primarily seved the objective of stemming mass defections from East to West).

  • Bay of Pigs Invasion

    Fidel Castro and John F. Kennedy were involved. John F. Kennedy and cubans wanted to take down Castro. These events took place in Cuba. Tjhis happened because the president believed that master minding the Cuban leaders removal would show Russia, China, and (skeptical) Americans he was serious about winnning the Cold War..
