  • Marshall Plan

    Marshall Plan
    It was a plan to help Europe recover from the war. It gave money to Europe and helped prepare the damages. It also helped people get jobs.
  • Berlin Airlift

    Berlin Airlift
    U.S., British, and Soviet military forces forces divided and occupied Germany. During this time the Russians wanted to take over Germany. They decided to close everything so people who lived their couldn't get supplies. Instead of cars they decided to use airplanes.
  • The Arms Race

    The Soviet Union decided to use nuclear bombs. The Soviet Union tested its first atomic bomb which made the race begin.
  • The Korean War

    President Truman, started the war. Chung Il-kwon lead the South Korean Army. Douglas MacArthur lead the United States Army. Eisenhower ended the war on July 27th 1953.
  • Vietnam War

    Vietnam War
    It was fought between communist North Vietnam and the government of Southern Vietnam. The war lasted for at least 20 years. It ended on April 30, 1975.
  • The Space Race

    The United States and Soviet Union had a problem sharing outer space. Each side both wanted the new technology. They started launching satellites into orbit.

    Germany decided to spilt into two parts East and West. People didn't like that idea and decided to leave. Soon the wall was put up so no one can leave. It was about 12 feet high and four feet wide.

    Leaders of the and the Soviet Union engaged in a tense, 13-day political and military standoff. They started launching missiles 90 miles south of Florida.
