    President Harry S. Truman established that the US would provide political, military and economic assistance to all democratic nations under threat from external or internal authoritarian forces.
  • Hollywood 10

    The Hollywood Ten was a group of 10 film industry members that refused to answer questions regarding their possible communist affiliations.
  • Marshall Plan

    American initiative which proposed that the United States provide economic assistance to restore the economic infrastructure of postwar Europe.
  • NATO formed

    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created by USA, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union
  • Korean War

    it is a conflict between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) in which at least 2.5 million persons lost their lives
  • Space Race

    The Space Race became a race to the Moon. Both countries, USA and Russia made announcements to launch the first artificial satellite into space, but it was the Soviet Union that brought humanity into the Space Age with their Sputnik satellite
