    10 American directors refuting claims of introducing communist ideas into American film. The directors were jailed for their supposed crimes and banned from the movie scene.
  • Truman Doctrine

    The U.S. states that they will no longer accept the Soviet Union's Communist influence on Europe. They fear a totalitarian government, especially after the end of WWII.
  • Marshall Plan

    The temporary substitution of military authority for civilian rule. This was usually invoked during times of war and rebellion.
  • NATO is formed

    They were created by the United States, England, Canada, and several Western European countries. NATO was formed to provide security against the Soviet Union and the communist party.
