    After WW2, the president of the united states, Truman asked permission to give Greece and Turkey economical and military assistance. This money was around $400 million dollars invested in Greece and Turkey flipping to the communist side.

    During the red scare era (being the initial wave of communism takeover during the early Cold War years), a group of 10 Hollywood men involved with film refused to testify for an anti-communism committee hearing. In 1947, congress held the famous Hollywood 10 in contempt.

    The Marshall Plan was named according to the president, he believed europe needed assistance with post war help. The Marshall Plan was an economic recovery act intended to raise europe's spirits.

The Korean War ended with an armistice signed by the US, the people's republic of China, South Korea and North Korea.

    The United States entered the Vietnam War to train the army of the republic of Vietnam. Nervous of communism spreading, the United States provided aid to the South Vietnamese economically, and with their larger military.
