    The meeting between the big three leaders of World War II. These leaders met and agreed on the terms of the end of the war. This relates to the political aspect of GASPIRE because the leaders dicussed the political terms of the end of the war.
  • Marshal Plan

    Marshal Plan
    This plan, set in place by the United States was put into action to rebuild and reestablish western European Economies. This relates to the economic GASPIRE theme because the United States wanted to rebuild the world economy.
  • Berlin Blockade

    Berlin Blockade
    The Berlin Blockade was put in place to limit the allied powers of the UN from entering the USSR's territory in Berlin. This relates to political because Russia was attempting to limit the extent of the political power of the allied powers in Berlin.

    Berlin Blockade Ends
    The end of the Berlin Blockade took place in 1949, and it represented political GASPIRE themes. This is because they made political arrangements to end the blockade.

    The Korean War comes to an End
    The bloody and hard fought Korean War finally came to an end in 1953, and Korea was divided into North and South Korea. This conflict related to the economic part of GASPIRE because the two types of economies communist and capitalist were involved in the conflict.

    The Great Space Race
    The space race, which was ultimately won by the United States was a major point of conflict during the Cold War. The two nations raced to achieve space travel, and to reach the moon. This related to the economic side of GASPIRE, because the US and the USSR had different typed of Economies. This led to conflict and sparked the entire issue.
  • Bay of Pigs Invasion

    Bay of Pigs Invasion
    The invasion called "the Bay of Pigs Invasion" was a failed US attempt to create a friendly government in Cuba, that the United States could trade with. The invasion failed because of Gaspire's social issues in that the people of Cuba did not stand up and fight with the rebel force that attacked Fidel Castro's regime.

    Berlin Wall is Built
    The Berlin Wall was built in order to keep people inside East German, which was controlled by the USSR. This related to the Geographic theme of GASPIRE because Germany was being divided and the eastern part was being separated by a wall from West Germany.

    The Berlin Wall was built to divide East and West Berlin, and to keep the people inside the Eastern part of Berlin. This relates to the geographic theme of GASPIRE because the city was divided in half geographically.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    The Cuban missile crisis occurred when Cuba allowed the USSR to place Nuclear Weapons in Cuba which was a strategic location to fire a bomb into the United States. This connects to the Gaspire theme of Geography because of the strategic location on the map that Cuba was able to act as a nuclear launch site from.
  • Moon Landing

    Moon Landing
    The moon landing marked US victory in the Space Race. This was important because the victory was able to set the US up for ideal surveilance systems in space. These satellites allowed the US to spy on Russia from above.
  • The Fall of the Berlin Wall

    The Fall of the Berlin Wall
    The Berlin Wall dividing East and West Berlin fell in 1989, and the fall of the wall symbolized the collapse of the soviet union. This connects to the GASPIRE theme of politics because the Communist state collapsed.
  • End of Cold War

    End of Cold War
    The end of the cold war was officially in 1991. This end of the war meant an agreement not to use nuclear weapons against each other and that the two nations would not wage war. The fall of the Soviet Union was a major cause of this.
