The Hungarian revolution was a an uprising that followed a speech given by Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev where he attacks Joseph Stalin's rule. This got hungry mad and they broke out into a fight. This made it so that rebels won the first phase of the revolution. Imre Nagy became premier and on November 1, 1956 he declared Hungarian neutrality and asked the United Nations for support. -

Glasnost- Glasnost is translated as openness and this was a policy used to began Democratization of the soviet union.Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev believed that opening up of the political system and democratizing it would help overcome destruction of the Soviet union political and social reputation. He began creating more individual freedom in the country which eventually cause Communist Party was reduced, and multicandidate elections took place “glasnost”.
