    This was a war between North and South Korea. The Soviet Union was supporting North Korea, while the US was supporting South Korea.
    The importance of this event is that it was a war that both countries had joined in on and it was also one of the more important wars. This war is now considered a hot spot.

    Berlin Wall
    The Berlin Wall was built to prevent people from fleeing from East Berlin. The Wall separated East and West Berlin.
    The importance of it was that it separated the democratic and communistic governments, which prevented some conflict.

    Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty
    This treaty stated that the US, Soviet Union, and Britain couldn't test nuclear weapons anymore, except for underground. This caught the attention of many other countries. With in 6 months, over 100 other nations had joined.
    The significance of this event was that nuclear warfare would become a little less common. It also helped out our environment.

    John F. Kennedy was the president during part of the Cold War. In fact he was president when he was assassinated. He was the 35 US president.
    The importance of this is that he was view the Soviet Union as a good thing and was trying to stop the fighting. He had a lot of impact on the cold war before he got assassinated.

    First Man on the Moon
    This event was the first ever person to land on the moon. The process to make it up to this point took many years of hard work and trials. The USA sent this spacecraft into space.
    It was so important since it signified the end of the Space Race.
