    Red Scare, period of public fear and anxiety over the supposed rise of communist or socialist ideologies in a non communist state. Joseph McCarthy started red scare. The Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, led many to fear that immigrants, particularly from Russia, southern Europe, and eastern Europe, intended to overthrow the United States government. It ended january 2, 1920.

    Truman doctrine is an american foreign policy that supports democracies against authoritarian threats. President Harry S. Truman presented this policy. Truman provided military aid and economic aid. The United States wanted to provide aid to greece and turkey and it ended in 1989.

    U.S, British and Soviet military forces divided and occupied germany. U.S and British controlled west and soviet union controlled east. The Soviet union also wanted to control the west part of Germany, so they blocked the United States road to enter germany. But the U.S entered Germany by flying. They gave supplies to Germany by airlifting. It ended on may 12, 1949.

Both countries wanted to prove who was more good at technology. It ended on july 17, 1975.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a direct and dangerous confrontation between the United States and Soviet Union. The United States spy plane photographed a nuclear missile site being built by the soviet union on the island cuba, that's how it started. It ended on october 29, 1962.

    The U-2 incident was a confrontation between U.S and soviet union that began with shooting down a U.S spy plane over the soviet union. The United states spy plane was shot down by a soviet air defense force. The Soviet union shot down the United States plane because the U.S was spying on them. It ended on may 1, 1960.

    The Berlin wall was a barrier that surrounded west berlin and prevented access to it from east berlin. The German democratic republic created it. East German soldiers laid down more than 30 miles of barbed wire barrier through the heart of Berlin. The East created it because if people from the east went west, the east would lose economic viability. It ended on november 9, 1989.

The agreement was signed by the United states, the United kingdom, Soviet union and 59 other states. The purpose of this agreement was to tighten their security in their country.
