Grenada

U.S. troops invade and overthrow their communist government in Grenada. When Bishop had became the Prime Minister he led Grenada to strengthen their ties with communist nations like Cuba and the Soviet Union.

Glasnost

Mikhail Gorbachev became the leader of the Soviet Union. He initiated a campaign of openness called “glasnost” and restructuring called “perestroika”.

Intermediate Nuclear Missiles

Reagan and Gorbachev resolve to remove all intermediate nuclear missiles from Europe.

Medium and Short-Range Nuclear Missiles

Reagan and Gorbachev agree to remove all medium and short-range nuclear missiles. As a result of this Treaty, the USA and the USSR destroyed a total of 2,692 short-, medium-, and intermediate range missiles.

Afghanistan

Berlin Wall
