Soviet Atomic Bomb
A German physicist that helped the US with their atomic bomb was arrested for passing on the secrets to the Soviets. President Truman ordered for the development of the hydrogen bomb. -
Mao Zedong
Created People's Republic of China. Changed the role of women by abolishing foot binding and outlawing prostitution. An estimated 14-40 million people died during the Great Leap Forward. Made a mess of China. -
Korean Conflict
Resulted in the death of 3 million people and massive property destruction. US noticed a "domino effect" of communism in countries. -

Great Leap Forward
Massive production drives for steel and agriculture caused transportation and production to be neglected. People starved and an estimated 30 to 40 millio people died. Mao had to step down as the Head of State while Deng Xiaoping rose in power. -
