Korean War
It was the war between South Korea, supported by the USA and North Korea, supported by the USSR and China. It ended in 1953. -
Vietnam War
As in Korea, it was a war between South and North Vietnam. Socialist Republic of Vietnam was founded in 1976 when the USSR seized South Vietnam. About 3.000.000 people died in this conflict. -
Warsaw Pact
It was a treaty signed between the socialist countries to counteract the threat of the OTAN. -
Hungarian Revolution of 1956
It was a revolution against the Hungarian People's Republic and its Soviet-imposed policies. At the end, the USSR made many promises for hungarian people and also many others were sent to prison. -
Sputnik I
It was the first hand-made satellite to orbit around the Earth. It was developed by the USSR and also took part on the I.G.Y. (International Geophysical Year). -
Building of the Berlin Wall
It is the wall that separed West Germany and the socialist German Democratic Republic. It symbolizes the Iron Curtain. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
It is the confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. It is also the point in which the Cold War would became into a nuclear war. -
Fall of the Berlin Wall
It is the start event of the fall of communism in Eastern and Central Europe. It also became the opening of the Iron Curtain and the ending of the Cold War. -
Fall of the USSR
It was the process of internal disintegration within the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It ended with the independance of 15 of its republics. Also, it's considered as the final event of the ending of the Cold War.
