The United States tried to invade Cuba but failed miserably. -

Regan visited the Berlin wall to show his commitment to West Berlin and the NATO forces. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
13 day political and military standoff. The Soviet Union set up missiles in Cuba. The United States had to threaten them to take them away. -
Nuclear Test Ban Treaty
The Nuclear Test Ban Treaty prohibited the testing of nuclear weapons in Outerspace, the Atmosphere or underwater. -
Apollo II
The Soviet Union won the Space Race but the United States won the race to the moon when they sent the first humans to the Moon. -
Reunited Germany
East and West Germany reunited and stopped being a communist state. This was a sign of the end of the Cold War for many people.
