It would tell how they[Soviet Union] could not imagine having a world that existed with Communism and Capitalism.     Winston Churchill spoke at a conference of a geological barrier that would be found at the separation of Communism and Capitalism. This would be known as the Iron Curtain and was used for the next amount of years to do diplomatic relations with west/east Europe.

    The Truman Doctrine was a way to provide economic assistance to countries that focused in South Eastern Europe (Turkey being used later for Ballistic storage). Truman asked for close to 400 million dollars from that session of Congress and it was approved.

    The Domino Theory was the idea that if one country fell underneath Communist control, so would another, and another, until all fell under Communist control. This goes hand and hand with the Truman Doctrine, as it was reasoning to provide economic aid to Greece and Turkey.

    The Marshall Plan was a way to carry out economic and military aid to countries at the risk of being taken by Communism. The idea of containment was also helped this way, as the aided countries would side with the US rather than a communist country.

    Berlin Airlift Sends Out Aid

    The Berlin Airlift was a squadron of planes that would constantly be sending aircraft in and out of Berlin to provide food and resources. The Soviet Union held traffic from flowing in and out of Germany, which caused famine and issues to happen in the country, so the US supplied Germany with aid through the air, rather than roads. After supplies were given, then the Soviet Union unblocked flow of locomotives and on-road traffic.

    North Atlantic Treaty Organization was for in 1949 for the purpose of sustaining peace. This was formed by the United States, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Norway, Canada, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Portugal, Iceland, and Luxembourg.

    The Space Race was the competition between Russia and the US to see who could get to space first. Russia had many scientists and engineers working and ended up getting the first satellite into space. The US however did claim the first title of First Man on the Moon.

    Brinkmanship was the idea that any country in conflict was on the brink of war with another. This also goes in hand with the idea of M.A.D, as the threat of conflict would bring war and destruction to both countries involved.

    Sputnik was a UAV (unmanned air vehicle co-operative with UAS) satellite sent up by Russia in late 1957. This was used to navigate and orbit through space, and it was a marked beginning of the Space Race.

    Berlin Wall Built and Destroyed

    Prior to building, the Soviet Union had claimed half of Germany, and the free and independent states had control over the second half. The Western half of Germany was the side that remained the same, but Eastern Europe was the group controlled by the Soviet Union. People tried every way to escape by climbing, digging, hopping on buses, etc. This also goes in hand with the Brain Drain, as many experts left East Germany at the time. After leader visits, the wall was torn, the people were free.

    Idea of M.A.D
    The Idea of M.A.D (Mutually Assured Destruction) came at the threat of nuclear weaponry after WWII. Mostly, this went hand-in-in with conflicts between Russia and the US and would later become big during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

    Cuban Missile Crisis

    A fight between the US, Cuba, and Soviet Union. Short-range ballistics were sent to Cuba for assured destruction of the US if any conflict happened. They were covered by the fact that it was used for Cuba's defense when Castro was questioned. President Kennedy called for them to be removed but was denied and caused a world scare, and it ended up that the ballistics would be removed at the expense of the US removing their missiles from Turkey.

    Cultural Revolution

    The Cultural Revolution was started by Mao Zedong in 1966 as a way to grasp China by its economy. He quickly rose to power and used the youth of the nation to enforce the ideals of "New China". The new ideals would appeal to Communism and it would continue to hold grip on China even till today. The youth of the nation formed a service called the Red Guards that would motivate the nation to change and some would discipline. The movement ended in 1976 when Mao Zedong died.
